A Great Western of Brazil instaurou inquérito administrativo para apurar as faltas graves cometidas pelo motorista Amaro Candido da Silva. Silva é acusado pela empresa de ter provocado, bêbado, um acidente em que o automóvel que dirigia teria se chocado com um trem de carga. Os membros da Primeira Câmara do CNT decidiram converter o julgamento em diligência para apurar as alegações de defesa do acusado. Após os resultados da diligência terem sido apurados, constatou-se a falta de provas por parte da empresa para demitir o acusado, motivo pelo qual foi readmitido.
